Support Assistant for Short-Term Supervision and Respite Care

Do you want to be one of us and make a difference every day? We are now looking for a support assistant for our units within short-term supervision and respite care LSS. In the units, users have a great need for support and challenging situations may arise. We consider it an advantage if you have experience working with challenging behavior of both physical and verbal nature. We work in a dynamic environment, so we are looking for someone who is confident in their professional role and is used to working independently.

Our user group consists of children, adolescents, and young adults with autism and other disabilities. In this position, you will work across several units, so we are looking for someone with good flexibility, who can easily adapt, and who enjoys a varied job.

The position is divided between one of our units for short-term supervision/respite and our meeting place for young people and adults aged 15 and older.

The schedule is day/evening/weekend with a working time of 36.33 hours per week.

About Us

Short-term supervision is for individuals with disabilities who no longer have the right to after-school care but still need it. Supervision is offered before and after school, as well as during holidays and study days, and is aimed at individuals from 13 years old until they graduate from high school. Short-term supervision offers relaxing and active leisure activities that provide both physical and mental stimulation where users can socialize with other young people under adult supervision.

Respite care means that individuals with disabilities have the opportunity for a change of environment, while their relatives receive relief. We cater to both children and adults, and our users are offered stays both during the week and on weekends. The stay provides users with the opportunity for a change of environment, stimulation, and companionship with others and can also be good training for those who want to move out of their parents' home.

The meeting place. Our mission is to help individuals achieve a meaningful leisure time. The Gråsparven meeting place is aimed at individuals within LSS (Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons) who are 15 years or older and live in Lund municipality. Here, users have the opportunity to meet friends, play music, play games, and buy snacks.

Job Responsibilities

• Plan the daily activities for our users.
• Establish and design implementation plans.
• Document in our journal system.
• Contribute to maintaining a good quality of service.

Qualifications

• Approved grades from the health and care program, child and leisure program, social studies/behavior or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
• Experience working with the target group within LSS.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing.
• Knowledge of low-arousal approaches.
• Experience with clear pedagogical methods.
• It is a requirement that you can and want to cycle.
• We would prefer that you have a manual driving license.
